Ourovoros: new gallery in Ojai

I have the press release in hand, reprinted below.  Congrats to Kostas, Amy and the crew for bringing a new business to Ojai.

Ourovoros art and jewelry in Ojai Ourovoros: Jewelry + Art, a new art gallery, located at 323 E. Matilija St. #112, in Ojai, is now open! Owner Kostas Lekakis will be exhibiting his artwork and jewelry along with works by printmaker Linda Taylor, painters Shawn Collins and Amy Tomsick, and potter Kathryn Browne.

The name Ourovoros is the Greek word meaning “tail-devourer” and it refers to the snake that eats its own tail, the ancient Greek symbol of alchemy, which is also part of the logo for the gallery.

Ourovoros is open daily: Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. For more information, you may contact the gallery at (805) 640-3700 or visit www.ourovoros.com. The grand opening celebration will take place in the beginning of the summer.

Ojai Seed Swap

Springtime is upon us - it is time for tilling the soil, preparing beds and planting the seeds that will bring a bountiful harvest months from now.  Raymond, over at Ojai Garden, has posted an invitation to the Ojai Seed Swap, where perhaps you can find an heirloom tomato or some Russian garlic to enliven your spring garden.

Ojai Restaurants

It has been awhile, thanks for asking.  I've been rather busy - first with The Ojai Post, which launched March 1 and is going extremely well. And now with a brand new site - Ojai Restaurants.  Check it out, leave a review, let me know if anything needs fixin'.

The Ojai Post

The Ojai Post is a community blog, featuring Ojai residents from all walks of life writing about the unique Ojai experience. Ojai is a special place, not just for its geography, flora and fauna, small-town architecture and rich native American history - its also because of the people - talented, creative souls who tend to walk to the beat of their own drummer and carve their own path through life. Check in for daily musings, rants, Ojai news and greater goings-on from the place some call Shangri-La.

Looks like I picked the wrong day to quit launching websites.  Happy March 1, Ojai.
